  • CDC: World Rabies Day External link - A global health observance to raise awareness about rabies and enhance prevention and control efforts. Co-sponsored by CDC and the Alliance for Rabies Control (ARC).
  • N.C. Veterinary Division External link, Dept of Agriculture and Consumer Services - Protects the health of the state's livestock and poultry population through the administration of regulatory animal health programs and its diagnostic laboratory system. Responsibilities include the surveillance, monitoring, control, and eradication of diseases; providing diagnostic laboratory service to owners and their veterinarians; regulation of animal movements; and conducting regulatory disease testing to facilitate interstate and export movement of animals and food products.
  • N.C. Veterinary Medical Board External link - The state occupational licensing board for veterinary practice. Also manages formal complaints and inspections of all veterinary practices throughout the state.
  • N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission External link - The agency responsible for the management and stewardship of state fish and wildlife resources and for related issues such as nuisance wildlife and wildlife damage control. WRC provides guidelines for when to contact a Wildlife Damage Control Agent (WDCA). External link
